About the PTA

Town Close School has a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which is involved in a range of activities to support the School’s work.

The Association organises social events for parents, teachers and friends. Usually there is a fund-raising element to these activities, but we also hope that they are seen as convivial social affairs, promoting friendship and fellowship between all those associated with the School.

Over the years, the PTA’s fundraising has helped the School to purchase a wide range of equipment. Recently, this has included the purchase of one additional adventure playground, special TC hymn books, vaulting equipment, wooden benches, a trampoline and skipping ropes for Prep Department children. The Pre-Prep Department have benefited from a sand pit, wooden blocks, a train set, ICT equipment, storyphones, bicycles and benches.

In the Autumn Term there is a Quiz and Chips Evening, a Family Bonfire and Fireworks Party. During the Spring Term the Association organises a Bingo Evening for families and the older children, and an Easter Activity Morning for the younger children. We also have a movie night showing separate films for pre-prep and prep. Every other year we host a spectacular Summer Ball. You will also see us behind various cake stalls raising money for the schools charity. Activities are planned on an ad-hoc basis, and parents will be invited to get involved as they arise.
