Our Events
Running events is a huge part of what the PTA do. The primary purpose of these is to bring the school community together. We also use them as an opportunity to raise money through ticket sales, raffles and entertainment such as games stalls, crafts, donated bakes, fun casinos, ride on trains, real reindeer etc.
Over recent years we have been very lucky to put on some great events which have been very well received by the Town Close Community and those that have provided services to us. The support from parents, staff and local businesses has been pivotal to the success of these events.
We would like to thank everyone who contributes to our events, be that through volunteering, sponsoring, gifting raffle donations, providing services, buying tickets and coming along. All of this is key to the success of our events and fundraising.
What sort of events do we run?
We endeavour to have a mix of child/family and parent-only events and we aim to offer at least one of each every term, depending on the school calendar and availability of volunteers.
We set out to create a flexible and varied calendar; mixing some new and different events alongside our popular events, which we traditionally run annually or biannually.
The scale of what we do can vary significantly. We put on full ticketed events such as our School & PTA Christmas Fayre in 2023 and regular fireworks, quiz and summer social evenings or balls. However, we also run smaller offerings, such as the cake stall at the Year 3 & 4 Christmas Craft Event and Year 5 & 6 Summer Fête and, our popular strawberry stand at the Prep Sports Days.
We are very grateful for the parents who donate baked goods for sale to all of these events. They are HUGELY popular with the children, they help to create a real sense of community and they offer a lovely very low cost fund raising opportunity.

Do you have an idea for an event?
We are always open to hearing about new ideas for events.
We can't guarantee we will be able to put on an event and there are lots of things we have to assess before we can commit to one. However we would love to hear about demand and be inspired by our community for exciting new options.
Please do let us know what your idea is and we will happily review it. Even if we are not able to proceed with any idea in a particular academic year, we can keep it on our list for further consideration.

Our Raffles
We run raffles at most of our larger school events, these contribute significantly to our fundraising efforts.
As well as benefitting the PTA through the very generous donations which can be offered as prizes, they are a great way for local businesses to gain awareness across the Town Close Community.
As with our sponsors we are always very happy to advertise businesses who donate to our raffles in our promotional material, communications, social media and here on our website.
